Meet the Coaches

 

Casey Dugan, Head Varsity Dance Team Coach

Head Coach Casey Dugan

Coach Dugan has been coaching with the Libertyville Dance Team Program since 2012.  She has been a lifelong member of the Libertyville community where she trained in dance for her entire youth. Coach Dugan had the honor of being a four-year Libertyville Varsity Dance Team member and a two-year captain in high school. Prior to 2015, Coach Dugan was an assistant coach. In 2015, Coach Dugan became the head of the program. In 2016, the team’s hard work earned them Sectional Champions and 3rd place at the IHSA State Championship. Throughout Coach Dugan's career as head coach, the Libertvyille Dance Team has made it to the IHSA State series 8 consectuvie years. The team placed 5th in the IHSA State Finals in 2017 & 2021, 6th place in the IHSA State Finals in 2022, 7th place in the IHSA State Finals in 2019 & 2020 and 9th place in the IHSA State Finals in 2023. Currently, Coach Dugan is a Reading Specialist at Oak Grove School in Libertyville. Coach Dugan is looking forward to another great season!

 

Alison Forsythe, Assistant Varsity Dance Team Coach

Coach Forsythe grew up in Pleasant Prairie, WI, and trained at Dance Academy of Libertyville. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (School of Nursing), she wanted to jump right back into the dance community. During her time with the program, Libertyville Varsity Dance Team has made it to IHSA State Finals every year and she is so proud to coach such amazing athletes. Outside of coaching, Coach Forsythe is a registered nurse in the local area. She is excited for her fifth year with the incredible family of the Libertyville Dance Team!

 

Megan Wolter, Assistant Dance Team Coach

Coach Megan Wolter

Coach Wolter is graduating this spring from Grand Valley State University where she pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Dance. In her time at GVSU she has received many awards and scholarships and most recently received the “Excellence in A Discipline Award for Dance”. She is from Libertyville, IL and was a member of the Libertyville Dance Team from 2014- 2018. Megan was elected captain her senior year and was a part of the first choreography team in 2018. She trained at Dance Academy of Libertyville in a variety of styles such as Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Contemporary and Pointe and performed with the pre professional companies, Ballet Theatre of Illinois and Jazz Theatre of Illinois. For the past three summers she has been an instructor for Universal Dance Association and was nominated for Rookie of the Year in 2019. Megan has just recently finished up her season as the Junior Varsity Dance Team coach at Kenowa Hills High school in Grand Rapids, MI. Megan is excited to return to the Libertyville Dance Team program and can’t wait to be a Wildcat again!
