Greg Herman

Head Coach

Greg Herman has been part of Libertyville swimming for over 30 years. Greg swam for Libertyville and was voted most valuable and team captain his senior year.  Greg went on to swim four years at Wheaton College where he was all conference CCIW. Greg has coached at the club level, the junior varsity level, and was the varsity head coach for over 20 years. He is a member of the Lake County Coaching Hall of Fame. Greg has coached multiple all-state, all-american, and state champion swimmers.  Greg retired from teaching in 2016 but continues to coach because of his love for the sport! Away from the pool, Greg claims to be the world's greatest fisherman*

Maddie Bollinger

Assistant Varsity Coach

Maddie Bollinger is a 2016 Libertyville High School alum who returned to LHS as a math teacher starting in the 2021-2022 school year. At LHS she was a varsity athlete in both swimming and water polo and went on to swim for four years collegiately at Illinois Wesleyan University. In addition to coaching varsity swimming at LHS, she spent two seasons as an assistant coach for the boys water polo team at Highland Park High School and is now the assistant coach for the LHS girls water polo team. Outside of school and the pool, she enjoys hiking, cooking, gardening and spending time with her dog, Rory.

Jacob Weber

Assistant Coach (JV1)

Jacob grew up in Mexico City, Mexico and then Des plaines, IL.  He swam for Maine East High School and then Northern Illinois University (BS in physical education and spanish). Jacob has coached high school swimming as a head coach and assistant coach, as well as at the college and club level. Prior to coming to Libertyville, Jacob spent 20 years as the Deerfield High School boys assistant coach as well as a club coach in Deerfield. In addition to working with the high school team, Jacob is also coaching at Libertyville RISE Aquatics. When not on the pool deck he likes to watch his daughter dance and swim, and cheer for the White Sox, Bears, and Blackhawks.

Kedric Greenawalt

Assistant Coach (JV 2)

Coach Greenawalt has come full circle in his coaching career having started as a LHS assistant under Greg Herman back in 2002.  Greenawalt served as an assistant to the girls at Libertyville for 5 years before taking over the VHHS Girls' Swimming & Diving program where he also teaches science. Coach Greenawalt led the VHHS girls and boys programs through the 2010-2011 school year before focusing solely on the girls' team. Greenawalt built both teams to respectability, most notably leading the girls' program to Sectional Championships beginning in 2017. Not only has Coach Greenawalt served as a high school coach but has also been a part of D128 swimming through his coaching with the swim club formally known as CATs, now called RISE Aquatics.  He is very excited to be back with the Wildcat swim team and looks forward to a great season with Coach Herman once again.

Dave Fowler

Diving Coach

Dave Fowler was born and raised in Evanston, IL. He now lives in Lake Bluff with his wife Sue and daughter Merritt. Dave has a BS in Physical/Health Education from St. Cloud State University (MN). Past coaching positions have included St. Cloud Tech HS, St. Cloud State University, Deerfield HS, and Lake Forest College. Along with coaching girls and boys diving at LHS and running the CATS Diving Club, Dave is a Sales Engineer for Nu-Tec Systems, a welding and plasma manufacturer in Gurnee.
