National SAT
National SAT exams are held throughout the year on Saturdays. A National SAT test will be offered at LHS in October; students must take the test at alternate locations for the other test dates. Register at collegeboard.org.
SAT Subject Tests
These tests are a series of one-hour exams designed to evaluate knowledge in specific subject areas: history, mathematics, science, English and foreign languages. The SAT Subject Tests that you take should be based on your interests and academic strengths. You can take up to three tests on the same date. You may NOT take the SAT and Subject Tests on the same test day. It is best to take these exams immediately after a course in the subject has been completed.
Colleges may recommend or require SAT Subject Tests; carefully check the websites of colleges you are considering. However, if you are applying to selective colleges it would be wise to take these tests even if they are only recommended.
