Final Exam Information for Freshmen and Parents

Final Exam Information for Freshmen and Parents

November 27, 2017

Dear Freshmen and Parents:

As you prepare to take your first final semester exams in high school we wanted to share some tips to have a more successful testing experience.  Exam week tests may count up to 20% of your semester grade in each class.

Buses will operate on the normal morning schedule on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, December 18, 19, and 20, 2017.  The end-of-the-day bus run will begin 10 minutes after the last exam at 1:05 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, and after the period 8 final on Wednesday at 11:20 a.m.

There will be no classes on Thursday, December 21 (an exam grading day for the teachers) and no school on Friday, December 22..  Second semester schedules will be handed out during 3rd period classes on December 7th.  All schedule change requests for second semester must be completed by the end of the day on Wednesday, December 20.  Schedule changes will only be considered if there is room in the requested new class.  No schedule changes will be made after first semester ends on Wednesday, December 20.

If your student has three finals in one day, he/she may place a request to his or her teacher for an exam to be moved, but only if the student has three finals in one day.  The exam will be rescheduled at a mutually agreed upon time.  Please note the make-up final exam period may be used in such a case.

Please call your student’s counselor if you have any questions.  The final exam schedule can also be found on the back cover of the student handbook and is on the VHHS web site.  Report cards will be mailed the week school resumes in January.

The best of luck to you as you take your first finals of your high school career!

Sincerely,

Greg Stilling
