About me

This is my twentieth year teaching English at Libertyville High School. I hold a bachelor's degree in English Secondary Education from Northern Illinois University, and a master's degree in Education in Curriculum, Technology, and Education Reform from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana. I received National Board Certification in 2007 and renewed the certification in 2016. Outside the classroom, I work to recruit other educators to register for the National Board Certification process and support them through the process. I have served as a regional coordinator for the Illinois National Board Certification support system as well as a regional candidate cohort facilitator. I have also coached boys cross country and served as the advisor for Snowball and the yearbook at various points in my career at LHS.

Outside school, I enjoy spending time with my wife, six children, and dog. My hobbies are writing for and singing with my band, running, and hiking.
