Graduating Senior Chromebooks

Stoplight showing red light as status
The "red light" to the left indicates "Stop.  There's nothing you HAVE to do do at this point.

Check back at the begining of May when we switch to yellow light status because it's time to "proceed with caution" and see more detailed steps.

Your school Google account

  • June 30, 2019 is the LAST DAY senior D128 Google accounts and their content will be available
  • If you do not already have a personal Gmail account, you will need to create one by the end of the year if you plan to take any school content with you OR keep your Chromebook
  • Notify any colleges or other necessary people/organizations of your NEW email address so they have that BEFORE your school account is no longer available for communicating
  • Check out this article on how you can use Google Transfer at the end of the school year to transfer content to your personal Gmail account.

Your Chromebook

  • Use your Chromebook as usual for the rest of the semester and through your last final
  • Decide which statement below describes your post-graduation Chromebook plan

I do not plan to keep my Chromebook after graduation

  1. There will be a drop-off site available where you can turn in your Chromebook once you are COMPLETELY DONE for the school year.
  2. We'll take care of donating your device for responsibe recycling to keep our school green, and use some for spare parts to help future grads.

I need to keep my Chromebook after graduation

  1. At 4:00 p.m. on May 23, 2019, the I.T. department will "press a button" to begin the process of disconnecting all senior Chromebooks from management by the school district.
  2. Seniors keeping their chromebooks must FINISH this process themselves by powerwashing their devices. Instructions will be available on this page at the end of the school year.
