WORK PERMITS

The school acts as an agent of the State Department of Labor in issuing one-year work permits, issued in the main office.  Permits may not be issued unless all state requirements are met and the job for which the permit is requested is on an approved list.  Under Section 205/7 of Hazardous Occupations - No minor under 16 years of age shall be employed, permitted or allowed to work in any place or establishment in which intoxicating liquors are served or sold for consumption on the premises, or in which such liquors are manufactured or bottled.  To secure work permits, an applicant must adhere to the following procedures.

Anyone under 16 must be accompanied by a parent and present:

  1. A “Certificate of Physical Fitness” from his/her physician within the last year.
  2. A birth certificate or baptismal certificate.
  3. A letter of intention from employer with a job description.

Up to 20 years old and obtaining an age certificate - only a birth certificate is required.
