Jenny Smith- Head Coach
This is Coach Smith's fifth season as the boys varsity volleyball coach at LHS. She comes from a long history of coaching; 7 seasons with the girls program as the varsity assistant including a state run in 2012 with a 4th place finish and a run in 2014 with a 2nd place finish, 4 seasons with the Vernon Hills mens program including a state run in 2011 with a 3rd place finish, 2 seasons coaching at the jr. college level, and 3 seasons at the girls club level. Coach Smith played 4 years at Carthage College for the womens volleyball program and 4 years with the Track and Field team.
Adam Stuart- Varsity Assistant Coach
Coach Stuart has been working at Libertyville High School since 2010. Prior to joining the LHS staff, he was an Assistant Varsity VB and Basketball Coach at Palatine. After two years at Baylor, he transferred to Carthage College to play basketball and volleyball. At Carthage, his volleyball team played in the national championship game finishing second in Div III. Coach Stuart graduated from Carthage in May, 2009 with a B.A. in Exercise and Sport Science and a minor in Education. Coach Stuart works in the Physical Welfare Department at LHS. He and wife Erica just had their first child and Newest Wildcat Superfan (AJ) on December 10, 2013.
Casey Aubin - JV Coach
Coach Aubin is returning for his 7th year at LHS. Coach Aubin was born and raised in Orland Park, Illinois, where he attended Carl Sandburg High School. He lettered in Varsity football and boys’ volleyball for two years respectively. After high school Coach Aubin went on to earn a B.S. in History Education from Illinois State University. This will be Coach Aubin's 4th year as part of the Boy's Volleyball program, and 8th year coaching volleyball overall. Aside from working with the men's program in the Spring, Coach Aubin is also a Freshman Football coach during the Fall.
Jorge Tamayo- Freshman Coach
Coach Tamayo went to Evanston Township H.S. were he played as an outside hitter for coach Mike Hulett, the director at Adversity Club Volleyball, based out of Vernon Hills. Coach Tamayo had never played before his freshman year, but fell in love with the sport and began to play year round. Coach Tamayo began playing at the varsity level his sophomore year and was voted captain as a senior. After high school, he attended the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign where he went on to play for the club team as well as intramurals. Coach Tamayo started coaching in 2005 and has coached for both club and high school seasons, boys and girls, from beginners to high level athletes that compete on a national level.
Loretta O'Dea - Freshman Coach
Coach O'Dea has been coaching volleyball at LHS since 2011, when she became joined the girls program as a freshman volleyball coach. She joined the boys program in 2014. Last year, both the A and B Freshman teams had successful season winning the Palatine, LHS invite, Joilet West, Vernon Hills, and Glenbard West tournaments!! Coach O'Dea currently works in the both the Business and Family Consumer Science departments at LHS and is the head FBLA advisor. She is looking forward to another great season this Spring!
Jonathan Kim - Freshman Coach
Coach Kim is our newest addition to the boys volleyball progam. He recently graduated from Northwestern University and now teaches AP Psychology at LHS. This fall, Coach Kim helped out with the girls' volleyball program, and he is looking forward to getting the spring season started with the boys.
