Do you want to use your imagination? Do you want to be creative?  Art classes offer students an alternative to the traditional classroom!  Anyone in an art class can be successful in making cool stuff!  Guiding students in pursuing their artistic passions and expressing themselves, art classes contribute to students’ creativity and confidence during their high school studies and life beyond.  Visual art is an essential part of learning because it involves questioning convention, pondering problems, and looking for unique solutions to problems that have more than one answer.  Through making visual art, young artists develop lifelong appreciation and perseverance in creative problem solving, investigation of design, and effective visual communication of personal and more universal ideas.  Through studio time, travel experiences, and field trip opportunities, students build relationships with new people, express their points of view, and learn to see the world differently.  Art students gain exposure for their creations through all-school and regional art show opportunities, as well as local art and design competitions and exhibitions.
