Information regarding procedures for vaccinated students

The Lake County Health Department has announced that as of April 12th students aged 16 and older will be eligible to receive the COVID19 Vaccination. This is an exciting time for D128 and will be a tremendous opportunity to enhance the health and wellness of the Wildcat community. As students begin to get vaccinated, we wanted to share with you our procedure for vaccinated students.

Important things to know:

The student will not be considered fully vaccinated until 14 days after the last vaccination dose.

If the student is participating in Athletics or Fine Arts activities they will still be required to complete weekly COVID19 testing until 14 days after the last vaccination.

Students who are considered fully vaccinated are no longer required to participate in weekly COVID19 testing at LHS. Students can still participate in testing if they would like to do so.

Vaccinations do not interfere with or give false COVID19 test results.

Quarantine guidelines for fully vaccinated students:

If exposed to an individual who tests positive for COVID19, or if identified as a close contact, fully vaccinated students do not need to quarantine unless they become symptomatic.

If no known exposure, and the fully vaccinated student becomes symptomatic, they must quarantine until they receive a negative COVID19 test result.

Procedure for Fully Vaccinated students:

When a student is 14 days past their last dose, the student-parent/guardian is encouraged to take a picture of the front of the vaccination record and upload it to this secure link.  LHS school nurses will enter it into PowerSchool where all immunizations are recorded.

The parent/guardian of a fully vaccinated student may cancel the student's COVID testing appointment by completing this form.
