Seniors

  • A copy of your Academic History and an Unofficial Transcript will be mailed to your home.  Use them to complete college applications.  Make sure you are on track to graduate.
  • Attend the Senior Class Meeting with your counselor.  Important information related to your application process will be shared.
  • Attend the mandatory CRC Senior Application Training.  Information on registering for this training will be shared in August.
  • Take four academic core classes (English, Social Studies, Math, Science, World Language) both semesters of senior year.  
  • Continue to use Naviance to narrow your list of colleges and investigate application requirements.
  • Meet with your counselor to discuss your college applications and recommendation letters.  Meet with the college counselor for additional assistance, if needed.  Give your counselor AT LEAST three weeks to complete their letter of recommendation, if it is required by your colleges.
  • Request a teacher recommendation(s) in person, if needed, and if you have not done so already. Complete the Teacher Letter of Recommendation Survey (link on Naviance home page).  Give your teacher AT LEAST three weeks to complete the letter. Remember-most colleges require only one teacher recommendation, if any.
  • Meet with college representatives when they visit the CRC.  This is an extremely important opportunity to meet with the person who will read your application. For a schedule of colleges that are visiting, click HERE.
  • Register for the ACT, SAT, and/or Subject Tests if you plan to take or retake.
  • Work on your college essay.
  • Read the CRC Chronicle! It’s chock-full of important information and scholarship opportunities.
  • Visit colleges in which you are interested!
  • Create a spreadsheet of your college applications to track what is due and when. Keep track of your college website logins and passwords here, too, or in your phone!
  • Meet with your counselor, if you haven't already! Request transcripts and check your colleges to see if you need a counselor letter of recommendation.

  • Complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), which is required for anyone applying for financial aid, and is available after October 1.
  • Parents should attend the Libertyville High School FAFSA Completion Workshop, if they feel they need help.
  • Complete the CSS Profile financial aid form, if needed. 
  • Attend the ICE College Fair at CLC if you would like to add more colleges to your list!
  • Complete Early Action, Early Decision, and Priority applications for October and November deadlines.
  • Send ACT/SAT scores to the colleges to which you will be applying, if you have not already reported the scores.
