Summer School General Information
Our plan is to offer most Summer School classes in 2021 in an eSchool (remote) format (see the schedule of courses). Any classes that have an in-person component will be held at Vernon Hills High School (145 N Lakeview Pkwy).
Tuesday, June 8th - Thursday, July 29th
- 1st semester classes will meet from Tuesday, June 8th – Thursday, July 1st and earn 1/2 credit.
- 2nd semester classes will meet from Tuesday, July 6th – Thursday, July 29th and earn 1/2 credit.
- Driver Education will meet Tuesday, June 8th - Thursday, July 22nd.
*There will be no classes on Monday, July 5th.*
*There will be no classes on Fridays; the building will be closed.*
Most classes will meet from 8:15 am – 12:45 pm (please note that Summer School starts 10 minutes earlier than the hybrid bell schedule D128 utilized during the 2nd semester of the 2020-21 school year).
Check the course descriptions for class fees.
District 128 students will request to enroll in a Summer School course with their guidance counselor. Requesting to enroll in a Summer School course does not constitute registration.
Payment by credit card is preferred and will be accepted online only via our secure web store beginning at 8:00 am on Wednesday, March 31st. If you are paying by credit card, you will complete the registration form online as well. All outstanding school fees must be paid before registering for Summer School.
*Students will be officially registered in the course only after registration and payment have been completed on our secure webstore.*
Refunds will NOT be issued after May 15th unless the class is cancelled by District 128. The District 128 Summer School Program is financially self-supportive; therefore, decisions regarding enrollment and course sectioning must be made in fairness to all students and teachers. No refunds will be made when students are dropped from a class for poor attendance, for disciplinary reasons or discontinued attendance of their own.
Report cards will be issued at the end of 2nd semester. Summer School grades will be accessible through PowerSchool. Login credentials during the summer are the same as those used during the school year. New D128 students will receive their login information during the first week of Summer School.
We are still considering options for busing in 2021 for classes with an in-person component. Information will be shared as it becomes available.
