D128 Students and Parents/Guardians:

We are certainly demonstrating the “N” in our DARING mission this week as we have Nimbly navigated through a Zoom outage on Monday, revised learning plans on Wednesday, and new student Zoom accounts today! Thanks and appreciation for all of your patience and teamwork as we continue to make the D128 eSchool experience the best and safest it can be for our students.

Yesterday, our district and building administrators, instructional coaches, and the D128 IT staff worked with teachers and staff to implement higher-level security and safety protocols in Zoom. This morning, school staff members were busy contacting those students who had not yet authenticated their Zoom accounts. Our Tech Help Desk staff members have worked tirelessly since last night to assist students in authenticating their Zoom accounts. By mid-morning, we were proud to confirm that nearly 100% of our students had their accounts!

As a reminder to students, our Tech Help Desk is here to assist you with any technology-related questions or roadblocks you may encounter. Again, the Help Desk numbers are 847-327-7401 or 847-932-2401. You may want to save those numbers in your phone. You can also visit the link to the Tech Help Desk on the d128next web page.

The investigation into the vile, hateful Zoombombing incidents that brought us to this point continues, and we are appreciative of the anonymous information and tips that students and parents have provided us. Offending individuals will be held to account. If you have any information that you think might assist our investigation, please contact LHS Assistant Principal Eric Maroscher at 847-327-7004 or VHHS Assistant Principal Greg Stilling at 847-932-2270.

Again, thank you for your support, teamwork, feedback and attention to our communications as we continue to construct an eSchool program that is second to none!

Sincerely,

Prentiss G. Lea, Ph.D.

Superintendent
