D128 Staff, Parents/Guardians and Students:
District 128 Administration learned this afternoon that the Joint Committee of Administrative Rules (JCAR) in Springfield declined to renew the Illinois Department of Public Health’s emergency rules relating to COVID-19. Notwithstanding JCAR’s action today, the Governor’s Executive Order 2021-18, which mandates that masks be worn in public schools, is still in effect. At this time, mask requirements for all students and staff will continue, except for students named in the original lawsuit.
We will provide an update for our staff and families once more information is available.
