Colleen Peddle - Head Coach - email Coach Peddle
My freshman year of high school I volunteered to help coach the junior program that fed into our high school. I fell in love with the fact that I got to help teach young kids to do something that I fell in love with doing my myself. Prior to high school I cheered 5 years in the recreational program and was also taking gymnastics classes where I learned to tumble and use basic movements for conditioning. When I got to high school I cheered all 4 years and continued cheering 4 years after. I cheered on 3 different level five teams that all attended The World Championships located at the ESPN center in Disneyworld in 2011-2015. In 2011, I had gotten a gymnastics instructing job at Libertyville Gymnastics Academy coaching levels pre-k to level 4. There, I learned how to condition athletes specific to what they were working on and how to teach tumble skills with attention to detail. After 3 years working there I had gotten an opportunity in 2013 to work with the Wauconda high school cheer program. I was hired as the head junior varsity cheer coach and worked there for 3 years. While working at Wauconda I had received another coaching job at Ultimate Athletics. There I coached tumble classes that ranged in age from 18 month olds to 18 years old. While getting used to my schedule with Wauconda and doing classes at Ultimate for one year, the next year I picked up 2 teams at UA in 2016. I had a level 2 team, and a level 3 team. One of which attended The Summit, located at the ESPN center at Disneyworld. At this last national competition they competed against 60 teams and ended up placing 11th. This past year I had this great opportunity to work with the Vernon hills cheer program, and I am so excited to help these athletes see what hard work can do, what focus and determination can accomplish, and most importantly, experience what this sport has to offer.
