Steve Werntz - Head Coach - e-mail Coach Werntz

Steve has helped hundreds of lacrosse players by instilling strong fundamental skills and nurturing a love for the game.  He grew up in Severna Park, Maryland and played at Severn, Severna Park High School, Hero’s Lacrosse, and McDaniel College.  Many of Steve’s coaches were All-Americans and he brings their knowledge, plus personal experience, to help your daughter be her best.

Molly Laska - Assistant Coach

Coach Laska has been involved in lacrosse for over 10 years.  She was brought up in a family of athletes & coaches and participated in a number of sports growing up.  While attending Libertyville High School, she dedicated herself to the sport of lacrosse full time, by joining not only her school team, but also Lacrosse America and Lakeshore Lacrosse Club Teams.  After high school, she was invited to coach the Lake Forest Avalanche Elite Lacrosse team. Her success with this team pushed her to pursue even more coaching opportunities, including seasons for IGLA, Lakeshore Lacrosse, Vortex Lacrosse, and the Libertyville Warriors.  Wanting to expand her coaching experience beyond just club teams, she accepted the position of Varsity Coach at Saint Viator High School in Arlington Heights. In 2016, she joined the coaching staff at Vernon Hills, and continues to coach for several club lacrosse teams in the area.  She also works part time at The Lax Shop in Bannockburn. During the summer, Coach Laska keeps her skills sharp by competing in tournaments as a member of the Cincinnati Queens Lacrosse Team.
