Notice of Destruction of Records

Notice of Destruction of Records

Vernon Hills High School will destroy the class of 2013 and 2014’s temporary student records on August 17, 2019, pursuant to the Illinois School Student Records Act and the Local Records Commission. These records may include family background information, teacher comments, disciplinary information and test scores among other things. Students’ permanent records are kept for 60 years and include student and parent/guardian names, student birth date, attendance, and grades.
Please notify Jackie Roleck, Registrar (847) 932-2073 by August 3, 2019, if you plan to pick up records; as we need time to locate each specific file requested from the hundreds of files that exist for the class of 2013 and 2014. Alumni and/or their parents/guardians can pick up their respective student records beginning June 17, 2019 through July 17th, 2019, during the hours of 8:00 am to 3:00 pm Monday through Thursday. Parents/guardians must have a signed statement of consent from the graduate, which includes the graduate’s current address and phone number, allowing the school to release the record to the student’s parent/guardian. Upon release of student records, parents/guardians must provide proof of identification.
