The VHHS Art Department received a video for The Memory Project portrait delivery to Nigerian children this week. The children were so excited to receive our students' 11 drawn and painted portraits of them, and they fully understood that creating the portraits was a way to show them how much our students care about their well-being and their future. Students in the AP Portfolio class and Drawing & Painting class created these portraits as part of the Global Scholars Program.
Nigerian schools have the lowest attendance rate in the world, and our efforts show these children that their well-being and future matters. In building this international connection through visual art, our students create to fulfill part of the DARING mission of District 128. You can view a video of the reception of their portraits here.
