A #DARING new mission is in place at Community High School District 128. The District unveiled its new mission and associated graphics to all staff at the Feb. 19 institute day.

"A project designed to produce a portrait of a D128 graduate generated extensive input from educators, students and the community," said D128 Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction Rita Fischer. "When a district-wide team collaborated to review survey responses, identify themes and synthesize collective aspirations into a meaningful message and dynamic graphic representation, the work resulted in an inspiring mission and vision for all of our students."

The mission writing and design team met a number of times over a period of months to identify common community values from the nearly 3,000 responses to a survey containing five open-ended questions. The final product, pictured below, serves as the District’s guiding principles for students, educators, staff and community. In the months ahead, District teams will continue to work on ways in which all stakeholders may align their work with the new mission.

Mission Writing and Design Team members were: Debbie Beagle, Rebecca Bellito, Lisa Davis, Rita Fischer, Paul Friedrich, Jon Guillaume, Alyssa Henning, Debra Kellum, Briant Kelly, Tom Koulentes, Brenda Nelson, Lauren Pothast, Sharra Powell, Paul Reiff, Drew Russell, Mary Todoric and Bryan Wilcox.
