The D128 state champion Special Olympics Unified Soccer Team and Coach Andy Compton receive congratulations from Mayor Terry Weppler at the Nov. 13 Village of Libertyville Board meeting.
Two D128 Special Olympics teams competed in the Unified Soccer State Tournament on Nov. 3 in Evanston. The Storm Orange team won the Division 4 State Title and the Storm Black team took 2nd in State in Division 3. The state champion Special Olympics Unified Soccer Team was recognized at the Nov. 13 Village of Libertyville Board meeting and received a proclamation from Mayor Weppler.
Orange Storm Team athletes:
Division 4 State Champions - Anthony Berktold, Nathan Ferrara, Alexa Donato, Johnny Oconnor, Albina Giza, Mason Reyes, Anna Scholler, Joseph Maller, Chris Morozin, Lila Prochotsky, Brittany Jaimes, Delaney Bowen, Joseph Reyes and Brett Sweeney.
Black Storm Team athletes:
2nd place in State, Division 3 - Hailey Dunbar, Axel Gutierrez, Libby Karston, Shaw Keranen, Hanna Krietsch, Jack McDonald, Chase Miller, Liz Ochoa, Danielle Parnes, Vinny Roberts, Mckenzie Ruhnke, Kylie Spytek and Nicole Spytek.
