D128 Feb. 18 e-Learning Day

Feb. 18, 2019, will be a D128 institute day for educators and an e-learning day for students to make up one emergency closing day. All teachers will provide students with an e-learning experience that is aligned to the course curriculum. This may take many different forms as do daily learning opportunities in D128 courses. Depending on the kind of experience, student deadlines and requirements will vary. Families who have planned trips or college visits on February 18 do not need to alter their plans to accommodate e-learning. All students should register their attendance as described below.

Students will be responsible for reviewing e-learning instructions from teachers and completing e-learning as assigned. Students will receive an email on their school account with a link to a Google form that they will have to complete to verify attendance. The form includes a single statement. Students select the  “yes” response to verify attendance. Students must complete this form by 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2019. Students who do not verify attendance will be considered absent for the day.

In order to prepare students for the e-learning day, teachers:

  • will communicate their expectations to students in the electronic format of their choosing prior to or no later than 8:00 a.m. on Monday, February 18.

  • have discretion in determining what the e-learning experience is, how it aligns to course curriculum, and how it will be monitored or evaluated.

Please contact Dr. Rita Fischer, Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction, at rita.fischer@d128.org if you have any questions. Thank you for your flexibility in using this e-learning approach to meet our required student attendance days.
