D128 Parents/Guardians, Students and Staff:
As you may know, the CDC announced yesterday that anyone who is fully vaccinated may, with exceptions, participate in indoor and outdoor activities without wearing a mask or physical distancing. The exceptions require wearing masks while on buses, trains, planes and public transportation. We are awaiting direction and guidance from the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) and Lake County Health Department (LCHD) regarding this significant change and how we may implement it in a school setting. Given that, coupled with the fact that we have no way of knowing who on our campuses has been vaccinated, masks will still be required for anyone on our campuses. Once we receive IDPH, ISBE and LCHD direction and guidance, we will evaluate and adjust as warranted.
