Seal of Biliteracy

Seal of Biliteracy logo

The State of Illinois provides school districts with the opportunity to award students the State Seal of Biliteracy. The school district may establish a program to recognize high school graduates who have attained a high level of proficiency in one or more languages in addition to English, by designating on a student's transcript and high school diploma his or her receipt of the State Seal of Biliteracy. Community High School District 128 established requirements for demonstrating high level of proficiency in English and one or more additional languages based on state requirements and existing assessments administered to students at Libertyville High School and Vernon Hills High School.

Questions may be addressed to World Languages Department Supervisors Tammie Black at Vernon Hills High School or Jennifer Goettsche at Libertyville High School.
