Head Coach - Amanda Pechauer 

Amanda has been coaching swimming at Libertyville since 2014. Prior to LHS she coached 9 years with Howard-Suamico Stormbreakers, near Green Bay, WI. Also 2 years with Waukesha Express Swim Team, and 2 seasons at Carroll University in Waukesha, WI. She has coached numerous age group state, senior state, zones, and NCAA qualifiers in her previous 11 years coaching. Amanda graduated with a degree in Dental Assisting from Northeast Wisconsin Technical College in Green Bay, Wisconsin. She currently works as the pool aide and teachers assistant for Libertyville High School. Amanda swam competitively for 15 years, qualifying for many high level meets. She continues to swim on the Libertyville Masters swim team with her husband. She lives in Ingleside with her husband, daughter and their labrador-retriever. When away from the pool she loves traveling, camping, hiking, biking, competing in triathlons, and spending time with family.


JV1 Coach - Emily Koerner

Emily Koerner has been the Boys' Swim Coach since 2009. Before coming to Libertyville, she coached swimming for ten years in Deerfield. One of her favorite coaching memories at LHS is winning the Prairie Lake Championship Meet in 2011. In addition to coaching Boy’s Swimming, she is also a Spanish teacher at LHS. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in Spanish and International Studies, including a year abroad in Spain. She earned her Master’s degree in Bilingual Education/ESL from National-Louis University. Emily lives in Highland Park with her husband, Richie, their two children, Anna and Henry, and their black lab Murphy. When away from the pool and the classroom, she enjoys spending time with her family, doing crossfit and yoga, and being outdoors.

JV2 Coach - John Fischl

Coach Fischl returns this season to his 41st year of coaching high school swimming. Since 1994 he has coached the JV2 swim team at LHS with last year being the one year missing from the pool when he served as an interim athletic director. He had 25 seasons of head coaching experience prior to joining the Wildcat coaching staff. His favorite memory was being on staff for the 2013-14 season when the varsity team finished 2nd place in the IHSA state meet.



Diving Coach - Dave Fowler

Dave Fowler was born and raised in Evanston, IL. He now lives in Lake Bluff with his wife Sue and daughter Merritt. Dave has a BS in Physical/Health Education from St. Cloud State University (MN). Dave started in 2002 with coaching both the boys and girls diving programs at LHS. Past coaching positions have included St. Cloud Tech HS, St. Cloud State University, Deerfield HS, and Lake Forest College. Along with coaching girls and boys diving at LHS, Dave is a Sales Engineer for Nu-Tec Systems, a welding and plasma manufacturer in Gurnee.
