Principal: Jon Guillaume

Jon Guillaume became principal in 2014, following eleven years as assistant principal. Jon earned a Doctorate Degree in Education Leadership from Concordia University. Additionally, he earned a  Master of Science Degree in Educational Administration from Northern Illinois University and Bachelor of Science degree from Taylor University.

After studying mathematics and secondary education at Taylor University, he accepted a position teaching mathematics at Niles North High School in Skokie. After two years at Niles North, he accepted a position teaching math at Libertyville High School. In 1999, Jon became the Mathematics Department Supervisor for Libertyville High School and then for Vernon Hills High School when it opened its doors. He continued as department supervisor, math teacher and basketball coach until he became the assistant principal in 2003. Upon the retirement of Ellen Cwick in 2014, Jon became Vernon Hills High School's third building principal.

Assistant Principal: Joseph O'Brien

Joe O’Brien was named Assistant Principal for Curriculum and Instruction at Vernon Hills High School beginning with the 2014-2015 school year. His responsibilities include the coordination of programs and services related to curriculum and instruction, the coordination of student and parent programs, and the evaluation of teachers.

Joe has been with District 128 since 2000. He spent five years at Libertyville High School as the Social Studies Department Chair. Prior to that he was a teacher in the Vernon Hills High School Social Studies Department for nine years. The first two years of his teaching career were at Macomb High School in Macomb, IL.

Joe’s undergraduate degree is in History from Western Illinois University. In addition, Joe has a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from National Louis University and a Master’s in School Leadership from Concordia University.

Assistant Principal: Greg Stilling

Greg Stilling joined Community School District 128 in 1992. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Secondary Education from Augustana College and a Master of Arts in School Administration from Northern Illinois University. He spent his first seven years in D128 as a Math teacher at Libertyville High School where he also coached softball and football. In the fall of 2000, Greg moved to Vernon Hills High School to help open VHHS as a math teacher and the school's inaugural head softball coach. Greg served as the D128 Summer School Principal for 10 years and was a Dean of Students for nine years. He became the VHHS Director of Student Services in 2014. Greg's wife Amy also works at VHHS as a study hall monitor. They live in Libertyville with their two children, Molly and Jacob.

Assistant Principal: Andrew Young

Andrew Young was named Director of Programming and Data Analysis at Vernon Hills High School beginning with the 2015-2016 school year. His responsibilities included the coordination of student testing, student registration and enrollment, master schedule development, and school-wide data analysis. In 2022-2023, Andrew transitioned to supporting the Learning Support Teams (LST) and school counselors. 

Andrew earned a Doctoral Degree from the University of Illinois in Educational Leadership and Policy, a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Northeastern Illinois University, and a Bachelor’s Degree in History Education from Illinois State University.

Andrew began his career at Rantoul Township High School as a civics and contemporary issues teacher. In the fall of 2008, Andrew moved to Chicago to teach world history at Golder College Prep High School. Beginning in 2010, Andrew served as the Dean of Student Services through the 2014 school year when he transitioned to Assistant Principal.
