PARTICIPATION IN AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES

Students who are absent from school the entire day are not allowed to participate in any practices, competitions or school sponsored activities held after school or during the evening of the day(s) absence.   Students must attend at least 1/2 day (4 periods) in order to participate in any practices, competitions, or school-sponsored activities held after school or during the evening. For clarity, the 1/2 day (4 periods) may consist of any 4 academic periods throughout the day (excludes lunches or study halls) or any 4 consecutive periods so long as the span of 4 neither begins nor ends with a lunch, lunch release, or study hall. These activities include all athletic practices and events, plays, musicals, concerts, club meetings, and any other school sponsored activity. If the absence occurs on a Friday, this rule applies to the weekend as well. If the situation arises in which an exception to the above rule is necessary, the Principal or designee will make the final ruling.
Students who are suspended out of school are not allowed on school property during their suspension.  Students are also not allowed to participate in any practices, competitions or school sponsored activities held after school or during the evening of the day(s) of suspension.  If the suspension occurs on and/or includes a Friday, this rule applies to the weekend also.  These activities include all athletic practices and events, plays, musicals, concerts, club meetings, and any other school sponsored activity.  A suspension officially ends upon the student’s first day of return to school.  If the situation arises in which an exception to the above rule is necessary, the principal or designee will make the final ruling.
