VHHS Dance Team Junior Cougar Clinic & Halftime Performance 2024

WHO: Dancers - Grades K-5

WHAT: Learn a dance routine on Wednesday, September 18th, and perform with the VHHS Dance Team on Friday, September 20th on the field during halftime of the Varsity Football game! Registration includes T-shirt, ribbon for hair, and pizza dinner on Friday.

WHEN/WHERE:

Wednesday, September 18th, 4:00-6pm, VHHS West Gym (Check-in & Practice)

Friday, September 20th, 4:15pm, VHHS Cafeteria/Wrestling Gym (Check-in, Performance Practice & Dinner) & VHHS Varsity Football vs. Highland Park @ VHAC #16 - Stadium (Performance & Pick-up)

TIME:

Wednesday, September 18th

4:00-4:15pm - Check-in at VHHS West Gym, accessible via the main entrance

4:15pm - Clinic Begins. Dancers warm-up/stretch and will learn a dance routine from the VHHS Dance Team members. Dancers should come in dance-friendly attire, gym shoes, and should bring their own water bottle.

5:45-6:00pm - Parent Pick-up at VHHS West Gym

Friday, September 20th

4:15pm - Check-in at VHHS Cafeteria, accessible via the main entrance. Dancers should arrive with hair pulled back in a ponytail, dance-friendly attire, and gym shoes. Dancers will be provided with their T-shirt to change into and ribbon to wear at the halftime performance. Dancers are strongly encouraged to check with weather and dress accordingly!

4:30pm - Dancers warm-up/stretch in the Wrestling Gym and will review their dance routine with VHHS Dance Team members.

4:45pm - Eat dinner in Cafeteria. Pizza, water, and Rice Krispie Treats & Welch’s fruit snacks will be provided. Please note any allergies that coaches should be aware of. Dancers are allowed to bring their own meal.

5:30pm - Walk out to field.

5:45pm - Parents can meet dancers for pictures on the track during pre-game rituals.

6pm - Game starts. Jr Cougars will sit with the dance team in the stands.

6:45/7:15pm - Halftime performance

7:30/7:45pm - Dancers are dismissed after halftime. Parent Pick-up in the Junior Cougar’s bleachers on the far south end of the home bleachers, parents are to check-out with a coach.

FEES: $60 per dancer, includes free parent/guardian admission to the game for each registered dancer, dance routine instruction, t-shirt, and ribbon for hair.

Guaranteed registration date: August 30th by midnight guarantees t-shirt. Registration after August 30th does not guarantee a t-shirt.

Food: Cheese pizza, mini water bottle, Welch’s fruit snacks
Photos will be taken during the Wednesday clinic and Friday performance for use by D128 and social media, and if you do not want your child’s photo taken, please contact erin.shapiro@d128.org.
