DRESS CODE

Students are expected to present an appearance that does not disrupt the educational process or interfere with the maintenance of a positive teaching/learning climate.  Dress and/or grooming which are not in accord with reasonable standards of health, safety, modesty, and decency will be considered inappropriate.
School policy requires that pants and shorts be worn and fitted at the natural waistline.  Low-slung or sagging pants are not permitted.
Articles of clothing considered offensive or inappropriate will not be allowed.  Examples include but are not limited to any item of apparel or jewelry commonly associated with gangs and undesirable groups.
Any clothing with language or pictures conveying express or implied obscenities or sexual vulgarities, promoting the use of drugs, alcohol, tobacco products, inciting violence or other illegal acts, or conveying other messages inconsistent with community values will not be allowed.  Appropriateness of school dress will be determined by the school administration. 
All athletic, activity, fine arts and class t-shirts must be approved prior to design by coach or activity sponsor or the shirts will not be allowed in school or at school activities.
The dress code applies throughout the regular school day as well as extracurricular events.  Failure to adhere to the dress code policy will be considered insubordinate and are subject to discipline consequences.
