SMOKING/USE OF TOBACCO/POSSESSION OF TOBACCO AND/OR TOBACCO PRODUCTS

Libertyville High School and Vernon Hills High School are smoke free campuses.  Smoking is not permitted on school grounds.  Smoking, use of tobacco, possession of tobacco, electronic cigarettes, vaping products and/or tobacco products on school property, on a school bus or traveling between buildings is prohibited at all times.  This rule applies not only for the regular school day but also for all school functions on or off school property.  Students who violate the smoking/tobacco rule are subject to disciplinary action that may include suspension from school.

The Village of Vernon Hills, Local Ordinance No. 90-39 states that it is unlawful for any minor under the age of 21 to possess any tobacco product within the corporate limits of the village.  A violation of this ordinance may result in fines and/or an arrest.

The Village of Libertyville, Local Ordinance No. 14-47 states that it is unlawful for any minor under the age of 18 to possess any tobacco products within the corporate limits of the village.  A violation of this ordinance may result in fines and/or an arrest.
