Boys Soccer Coaches
Varsity Head Coach:
Kevin Thunholm
Coach Thunholm is in his 9th year coaching soccer in District 128 and his 6th year and his 1st year coaching varsity soccer at Libertyville High School. He is also an alumnae of Libertyville High School. He brings 30 plus years of experience playing soccer, including playing all 4 years at LHS, 3 years at the collegiate level and several years at the club level. He has completed the National “F” U.S. Soccer Coaching certification and brings a wealth of knowledge from his playing and coaching experience. Coach Thunholm is a high school teacher at a private therapeutic day school in Libertyville. He enjoys mentoring and developing both his students and players to promote them to the next academic and playing level. Coach Thunholm lives in Libertyville with his wife Erin and 2 sons – 4 year old Lucas and 1 year old Chase. Both of whom will be future Wildcats!

JV Coach:
Dale Eggert
Coach Eggert has coached the boys JV Libertyville High School team for 10 years. His first 8 years of coaching were from 1982-1989. After a 26 year soccer absence he came back in 2015 to again coach JV Soccer. He has coached in the Libertyville Wrestling program for 39 years, the last 30 years as the varsity head coach. He was named to the Illinois Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2000, the Prairie State Games Hall of Fame in 2003, the Lake County High School Hall of Fame in 2004, and the National Wrestling Hall of Fame – Illinois Chapter in 2015. He taught Health Education at LHS for 33 years retiring after the 2012 school year. He has coached Football, Baseball, and Softball in the past. He is currently the faculty sponsor for LHS’s Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Dale and his wife Mary live in Libertyville.
