The AP Music Theory course prepares students to take the College Board's AP Music Theory exam in early May. 
Topics covered include: part-writing, melodic dictation, harmonic dictation, interval identification, time signatures, key signatures, 7th chords, standard Western classical harmonic progressions, error detection, form, score studying, and many other elements related to music. Students should have a solid background in reading music notation either through ensemble (band, choir, orchestra) participation, guitar class, music production, or extensive piano training.
