World Languages Linguist Award

The World Languages Linguist Award will be given to up to three students who meet the following criteria:

  • A graduating senior who has made a scholastic pursuit of more than one world language while in high school
  • A graduating senior who intends to continue language study and use languages in a future career path. 

Robert Mathias Krupp Memorial German Scholarship 

Frau Krupp, former German teacher and World Languages Department Supervisor at Libertyville High School, along with the Krupp family offer this scholarship in loving memory of her husband, Robert Mathias, and in recognition of his German heritage. Candidates should have junior or senior status and have completed at least two years of German study at the high school level. Candidates should intend to pursue the study of German or additional languages at a four-year college or university upon graduation. 


Robert P. Calahan Memorial French Scholarship

Rob Calahan was a master teacher who inspired his students with his passion for the beautiful French language and culture, his dedication to his chosen profession and his enthusiasm for learning and the classroom.  He encouraged his students and cared about them individually. Rob Calahan began teaching in 1976 and sadly passed away in 1994. His dedication to teaching at LHS is honored through this scholarship.Candidates must be graduating seniors who are enrolled in French IV Honors or French V AP who are planning to continue the study of French in college.
