Supporting Success for Our Students

In 2007, the Community High School District 128 Board of Education endorsed the establishment of the District 128 Foundation for Learning. The Foundation works to obtain resources to enhance and enrich the instructional program and to give new learning experiences within our school district. The Foundation has made a significant impact on students attending Libertyville and Vernon Hills High Schools for more than a decade, giving over $550,000 to support the success of our students.

These resources fund projects that are extra opportunities and not within the district’s annual operating budget.  These opportunities include teacher grants for students to have additional experiences in the classroom which help all areas of the curriculum: Special Services, World Languages, ESL, STEM, Fine Arts, Applied Arts, and Physical Education.

The Foundation also supports the 8.5% of our district's population who are Students in Need. These funds are used to help students who are in difficult financial circumstances meet their basic needs to be able to focus on learning.

Additionally, the Foundation awards Student Scholarships to exemplary seniors who live the DARING mission.
